REVIEW: GHOST Girl Fragrance!

$
0
0
I've never mentioned this on my blog before but the original GHOST fragrance was the first perfume that I truly fell in love with and wore on a daily basis - this must have been when I was 16-19.  I loved the bottle, I loved the hints of sandalwood & vanilla and I love how womanly it made me feel back then.

Now GHOST are in the midst of launching their brand new GHOST Girl campaign which I feel like I've fallen for all over again.

First things first, Charlotte Free is the face of the campaign and anything she does, I am all over!  She's a fantastic role model of being true to yourself and expressing your unique identity (plus she's an absolute babe).  She's absolutely perfect for this campaign & everything the new fragrance represents - individuality, playfulness and mischievousness.

GHOST Girl has a real feisty edge with notes of pomegranate, pear and orange blossom, blended with notes of musky amber and cedar-wood which really gives it a kick and personality - also entirely different to the usual classical collection of GHOST, making it a contemporary dressing table must have.

In a way, I feel like I wish I could have switched it up and to have owned this perfume back when I was going through my years of self-discovery instead of trying to grow up to fast & fit in with everyone else. I should have instead been more carefree, more focused on my inner confidence and how I want to live and for people to see me - if that makes sense!

I think this fragrance is really marking a change of direction to the GHOST brand; I feel like a lot of fragrances that are currently being launched, yes, smell nice, but perhaps don't have much substance; Whereas to have a message as powerful as this and spreading the word to young girls who are particularly vulnerable is fantastic.  I really can't wait to see what they bring out next!

What do you think of this new fragrance launch from GHOST?

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: Notting Hill Gate

Andrew and I went for a little date night a couple of weeks ago in Notting Hill - we started off sipping Bubble Tea at Bubbleology (more about this in another post) before deciding we were both craving pizza for main course!

As always, my online shopping obsession is at a full time high!  I gave myself a 'shopping ban' in May which worked really well, but unfortunately I seem to be purchasing now with a vengeance!

I picked up this pretty pastel playsuit from New Look - not something I'd usually go for but I'm still trying to add more colour into my daily outfits so this seemed like an easy choice!  I love the floaty arms & the peach material which always goes so well with my favourite peach lipsticks.  The shoes are also from New Look and were in the sale from £40 to like £20 so I couldn't resist - I have a million shoes already like this but I love them! (Link here).

Getting more and more into outfit posts at the moment so stick around to see more of what I've been wearing recently!

Have you picked up anything from the Summer Sales?

Following on from her core range (see my review here), Zoe Sugg aka Zoella has just launched her newest beauty range - the Tutti Frutti collection... Just when I thought my dressing table couldn't get any prettier!

The range consists of: Scrubbing Me Softly Body Scrub, Foam Sweet Foam Shower Gel, Let's Spritz EDT, Kissy Missy Lipbalm, Candy Cream Body Lotion, Fresh Fizz Bath Fizzer, Cosmetic's Coin Purse!

The aesthetics of this range are beautiful and so girly, everything has been so well thought out, from the lace detailing on the back of the perfume, to the pastel pinks, mint greens and yellows that compliment each other so perfectly!

The Tutti Frutti range has a whole new fragrance to the original which is super fruity and sweet containing notes of blueberry (yum) and acai.  There are a few new additions to the range this time round also - the Scrubbing Me Softly Body Scrub, a smaller makeup bag and my personal favourite, the Kissy Missy Lip Balm which leaves your lifts moisturized but with a pink tint!

Ranging from £3 to £8, I assure you this range will really brighten up your bathroom & leave you feeling really pampered!

If you bought out a beauty range, what would it include?

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: Summer Rain

You can never predict summer weather in London and so it's good to have a good variety of clothing options to chuck on in case of sudden downpour!

I chucked this outfit on last week for a cheeky Nandos dinner trip when East London was feeling very wet & sorry for itself!  I am obsessed with my new denim jacket from Boohoo (available here).  I think I've got it in a size 10 which is perfect as it's already slightly oversized meaning I can fit on mutiple layers & a hoodie underneath.I teamed it with a lace top to add a bit of femininity to the look (New Look), a black hoodie (Primark) and my favourite skinny jeans (Topshop).

Looking at these pictures also makes me realise just how much weight I've put on recently too - I have my mother to thank for the family curse of big thighs so I really need to get my ass in gear and start working out on a daily basis. Anyway...

I'm debating whether or not to take this jacket to V Festival this weekend or just stick with a trusty rain mac instead?  It'll be my first ever camping experience and in all honesty I'm petrified - of drunk people, having to walk past mountains of vomit (are festival camps like that?), having things stolen and not getting any sleep.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you got any festival camping tips?

HOLLISTER OUTFIT OF THE DAY: Comfiest Jeans EVER

I have always been one to favour comfort over fashion and that has meant that over the years I have always picked out leggings to wear rather than denim.

However this all changed recently when I discovered Hollister's denim range...

I have now fallen head over heels for the brand (and might have accidentally picked up 3 more pairs of jeans on a recent visit to their store!).  First up - these jeans are INSANE, they are the comfiest pair of bottoms I have ever had the pleasure of wearing, so comfy in fact that I can actually lunge in them (as demonstrated beautifully above, I think you'll agree? ha!).

Not only that but they also stock the most perfect tops to pair up with your choice of denim.  I picked up quite a few, including this simple white slogan tee which is again, super soft and comfortable, to make a casual look.

I'll admit I also splurged on a few more tops including a shirt, a blouse & a jacket; I found that every item in store compliments each other perfectly and so with the pieces I picked out I can also put together a smart look and a festival look (which you'll be seeing on the blog soon too).  I highly recommend visiting a store to see which looks you can put together too.

TL;DR: Found the comfiest outfit ever, don't be jel!

Have you tried Hollister's denim range?

Thanks for Hollister for collaborating with me on this post and for introducing me to my new favs!

SEVENTEEN is a brand I've spoken about countless times on this little online platform of mine.  I find their products are such great quality and for such an affordable price which puts them up there on my top 5 high-street makeup brands list.  Excitingly, I'm about to partner with them on a project I think you girls & fellow bloggers will be very interested in...

This week they are launching their very own Blogger Network - a place for bloggers to access exclusive content to help inspire blog posts, allow you to be the first to see new product launches and also a place to share your blog posts to reach a wider audience.

I'll be creating a series of exclusive blog posts over on the network ranging from -

  • Blogger Organisation tips,
  • How Best to Light & Photograph Beauty Products,
  • to my Favourite Products for creating on trend looks for this season (think a/w looks and graphic eyeliner all with purse & budget friendly products).

I also want to talk about some SEVENTEEN products I think need more recognition - their Skin WOW! Highlighter is insane - a beautiful shimmery liquid which creates the most stunning dewy look as well as their Define & Conquer Contour Kit which has become a must-have product in my makeup bag.  I've also fallen head over heels for their Falsifeye HD Mascara - I'll be talking more about all of these over on the Blogger Network.

If you want to join me in the new Blogger Network community all you have to do is sign up here!  I'm really looking forward to chatting and sharing some of my top tips over there with you!

LIFE: V Festival

So last weekend I did something COMPLETELY out of my comfort zone and camped at my very first festival.  Don't get me wrong, I love festivals, I love the atmosphere, the music, the fashion, but the thought of camping got me really worked up!  As some of you know I have/had quite an intense phobia of people being sick - I've now finished treatment (CBT) for it and feel much better about it now but all I imagined when camping at a festival was people being sick all over the place 24/7.

I have ALWAYS wanted to go camping - I do see myself as a little adventurer & explorer and so I sucked my worries up and said yes to this opportunity and... I loved it!

Sure invited Andrew and myself along for the weekend - they had their own arena there which boasted some incredible acts, and also challenged me to try out their new deodorant - they've created Motionsense freshness technology, which is in fact the world's first antiperspirant that is activated directly by movement, so basically, the more you move, the more it protects.  They armed with me a fitbit to track how much I moved and off I went!

The first challenge was setting up the tent.  Andrew's parents bought me it for my birthday (they're possibly the most active family I've ever met and love camping so it was very apt).  They advised us to practise setting the tent up BEFORE we got to the campsite and also gave us words of wisdom saying 'a couple who can set up a tent together without arguing, are destined to be together for life'.  Luckily, Andrew and I are pretty much soul-mates and great team players and we set up the tent in 20 minutes, without one bicker, despite not practising beforehand.

The festival itself was so much fun - it really felt like a mini holiday.  We lapped up the sun (it was 30 degrees on Saturday), we danced the nights away to music (Tom Jones, Nero, Pendulum, Marina & The Diamonds and Calvin Harris were all big highlights), we met up with my friends (Lily & Dal), ate the festival food (which was, in all honesty, quite vile!) and I loved every minute of it, even the camping - I'm glad to let you know that there was no 'vomming' and I saw no one being sick.

I also wanted to give a low down of the products I could not have lived without:

Tangle Teezer: My hair was as matted as dreadlocks within 4 hours of being there and this really saved the days!
Antibac: Again, lifesaver - I used this SO much.
Simple Micellar Water Wipes: Being without water for 3 days was tough but these made removing makeup really easy & left me feeling really fresh.  I also took a pack of babywipes for other areas which also worked a treat.
Earplugs: Festival campsites really are really noisy. Enough said.
COlab Dry Shampoo: Couldn't live without this stuff.
Sure Deod: I am super impressed with this deodorant.  I used it on the morning we arrived and didn't really think about it for the rest of the day until I realised I had walked 25,000 steps in 30 degree heat and still felt as fresh as a daisy.  If that's not saying something, I don't know what will.  I would really recommend this to people who are very active and need something to protect keep them fresh all day.
All in all, according to my FitBit I walked almost 45,000 steps (WOW) and didn't sweat an inch.
BIG THUMBS UP from me.

I absolutely loved my first camping experience (at the age of 27) and now I absolutely can't wait to do it again.  I also want to say thank you to V Festival - the security in our campsite was just perfect and made me feel really at ease.  All members of staff were lovely and it's a weekend I'll remember forever!

Have you ever camped at a festival? Tell me your stories!

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: Boyfriend Jeans

Introducing you guys to my first ever pair of boyfriend jeans... and in need of your suggestions!

I NEVER thought I would ever own pair of baggy jeans in my late 20s; for some reason they remind me of my 15-year old teenage angst days when I would live in the baggiest, most unflattering denim, of which were covered in sharpie pen scribblings naming my favourite bands...

Whilst on a little Hollister shopping trip I thought there was no harm in just trying them on and I accidentally walked out of the store owning them.  They are SO comfy and although not the most flattering (Andrew doesn't like them much) this outfit does make me feel quite fashionable.
I teamed them with my new favourite shirt (also Hollister) and some nude heels from NEXT.

In all honesty, I don't think these will become a wardrobe staple for me, but they'll definitely be my go-to for shopping trips & weekends.  My question to you guys is how to you style your baggy jeans?  Bearing in mind I'm very short (under 5foot), please give me some suggestions on how to make them more wearable!

How do you wear Boyfriend Jeans to make them more flattering?

I wanted to start a new series on the blog where I just sit and talk to you guys about things I've been up to, weekly highlights and also just to note down how I'm feeling!  I guess like a little weekly diary, but online for everyone to read (eee)!

I've been feeling a bit un-motivated when it comes to my blog over the past couple of months, I don't know if anyone has noticed?  This pains me, as I feel like I wrote more content when I was working full time in another job, but now things are switched it's the opposite.  I guess I feel more pressure and therefore have become less enthusiastic about it.
Anyway, the reason for this new blog series is so that I have one dedicated blog post a week that I have to write to hopefully get me re-motivated!

Highlights & Things I've been up to:

- I had a little trim yesterday at ESHK in Shoreditch.  Please don't judge me, but it was my first hair cut in over a year...!  I really, really love the length it is so I kept putting off having a cut incase the hairdresser got chop-happy and got rid of my length but I'm happy to say it's still super long, just more conditioned and with a little more shape.

- I'll be spending lots of time with Louise (aka SprinkleOfGlitter) coming up as I'm helping her film some gorgeous videos for her channel.  I can't express how much easier, more fun & creative it is having someone else to help you film for YouTube channel (I really do drag in Andrew to help me at any chance I can get) and so I'm really excited for this little partnership.  I stayed round hers last week and had some adorable cuddles with her cats Zula & Rocket and lots of giggles with the girl herself.

- Andrew and I spent the day with my family last weekend and it was really lovely.  In the evening we had a hilarious meal out (at a Wetherspoons for the lolz - good thing my parents enjoy Jaeger Bombs) before heading to the Garage in Islington to see one of our favourite bands, The Rifles play a little intimate gig.  My sister, Dad & I were dancing at the front for the whole of it whilst our boyfriends had a sway with my mum at the side.  On the way back I spotted my Mum & Andrew walking and chatting with their arms linked and my heart nearly exploded with cuteness (pic above).

- Walking past a man in a crane doing some beautiful sea-life graffiti in Shoreditch really brightened my day yesterday!  I must have watched him for about 10 minutes.  And it was really heavily raining at the same time!

- My roses from Columbia Road that I arranged into a love heart shape have filled me with so much joy!  I honestly love my current location in East London and the fact that I'm walking distance to so many incredible areas - Columbia Road, Spitalfields and Brick Lane being my current favs.

- My MAC Lipstick Collection video went up on my channel on Sunday and the feedback it recieved really made my week!  I spent SO long filming & editing it and my lips were so sore afterwards (they're still so dry despite all the lip balm I'm slathering on) but the comments and view numbers have totally made every second worth it.
You can watch it here:

Coming Up:

Really looking forward to this weekend!  It's Andrew's birthday on Friday and so I have a really good day planned which you'll hear all about in next week's post.  We're then going glamping for the weekend in York, SO EXCITED!  We're visiting JollyDays and staying in a WoodCutter's Lodge which I think will be super instagrammable.  The only thing I'm not looking forward to is the long drive up there.  I think the furthest I've ever driven myself is Birmingham and driving to new places does stress me out so I'm a little nervous about that but it should be fine.

I also have my first Aerial Circus Class of the term tonight.  I enrolled back in the Spring as I really want to master the art of Aerial Silks after starting to learn at the beginning of the year (See Here).  I'll be learning Aerial Trapeze, Ropes, Hoop & Silks and then will choose which area I want to advance in.  Can't wait but not looking forward to the pain after each session!

I hope some one (other than me) enjoys this post!  I think it'll be nice to look back on and if it means I get my blogging mojo back, it'll be worth it!

Lots and lots of love, Katie!

Life Lately #2 : WE'RE ENGAGED!

So... I now have a fiance and am engaged to be married!!!  Let's rewind a little.

If you read last week's Life Lately post you will have seen that it was Andrew's birthday on Friday and we had lots planned, as well as a little glamping trip to the Yorkshire countryside too, where Andrew got down on one knee and popped the question.
I don't want to say too much yet as I'm going to save the full story for it's own video/blog post but I'm so excited and can't express how happy I am to be getting married to my best friend.

Highlights & Thing's I've been up to :

- Andrew's birthday was absolutely lovely.  We started the day with tea & opening pressies in bed, before moving onto brunch at the Holborn Dining Room & a trip to the Hunterian Museum (we've both been wanting to go for so long).  We then came home to pack for the weekend before heading out to Plum Valley in China Town for some delicious dim sum (one of A's fav cuisines) and our final stop was the Electric Cinema in Shoreditch where we snuggled under blanket's to watch Legend (amazing film I highly recommend).

- The Jolly Days glamping site we stayed in over the weekend was spectacular and so picturesque.  We pretty much had the whole campsite to ourselves and as there was no electricity what so ever (not even lighting in our hut) we really went back to basics and had fun playing cards, cooking on the BBQ, toasting marshmallows on a log fire we made etc.  Full blog post coming up of the accommodation as it was so lovely.

- My ring... enough said!

- Being asked to spend the rest of my life with my soul mate... again, enough said!

-  I also went for lunch with the lovely Em from My Pale Skin last week which was a treat!  We visited My Old Dutch for some sweet pancakes whilst we caught up.

- Estee Lauder held a little dinner at Shoreditch House last Thursday to celebrate the launch of their new Pop Up Store in Box Park.  I had such a lovely evening with Lydia, Lela and Reem and their new beauty products are fab - reviews coming up soon!

Coming Up:

This week is stupidly busy!  I'm having a big hair change tomorrow at Taylor Taylor so I'm feeling nervous excited about that and I also have SO much work to do this week before Andrew's parents come to London for a visit this weekend.
Also - wedding planning!  Is it too soon to start thinking of things like this?  We want to enjoy our engagement and need to save up a bit so I think it'll happen in 2017.  Thinking of doing some wedding inspiration blog content - let me know if you'd be up for that!

Thanks so much to every one who has been reading my blog for a while now and seen me go through heartbreaks (I've not been shy in sharing when I've been down) and sticking around for this next chapter in my life.

Lots of love, Katie xxx

Bit of a different look from me today, I feel like this is much more well thought out and polished than my outfits usually are, but I feel really comfy & confident in it none the less!

Everything in this outfit is from Hollister bar the shoes (which are from New Look if I remember correctly).  This post isn't sponsored, I am just LOVING Hollister at the moment - I genuinely think that the quality of their clothing is so great, every thing is so soft and well made and I seem to just want everything in their store!

I fell in love with this jacket as soon as I saw it, it's brown suede with fringed detailing on the back and along the sleeves and it cost around £70 - I haven't worn it out too much as I'm not too sure how to style it so if anyone can recommend that'd be great!  I teamed it with some super tight grey ripped skinny jeans and my new favourite floral blouse which is now one of my wardrobe staples.

Tonight Andrew and I going out for dinner with my family to celebrate our engagement, last week was so crazy we didn't get a chance to see them so I'm really looking forward to tonight!  (Also these pics were taken a couple of weeks ago which is why there is no ring in sight)!

What's your current favourite highstreet store?

REVIEW: SMASHBOX Camera Ready BB Water

$
0
0
Today I wanted to introduce you to my new favourite, the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water.  This bottle of goodness is like no other I've tried before, but my gosh does it work!

There are so many reasons I love this; from it's priming, hydrating and protecting features as well as more benefits in just one drop that you can read about below...

WITH FLASH:

Firstly, I think the pictures above explain ALOT about why this is my new go-to base product.  For a product so lightweight and hydrating, it perfects and smooths out all of my imperfections.  As you guys know I suffer from quite bad acne and for me to feel confident wearing just a BB Water outside of the house is an achievement in itself.

The consistency of this foundation really needs boasting about; it really is like a water.  The formula is so thin that I thought it couldn't possibly cover my acne scarring but it does in a way that is so beautiful and flattering - it's almost like a water-like veil.  I love that it doesn't feel heavy or cake-y on the skin, in fact when I wear this my skin feels completely bare which I love.

Not only does the product perfect, but it also primes (I think this is one of the reasons it's so flattering on my skin, as it also blurs out pores, fine lines and blemishes) as well as hydrates and protects with SPF 30 all with a few drops of the product.  It also contains no oil or alcohol which means it won't cling to your dry patches or leave you looking too 'flat', but it leaves me with a sheer but build-able finish which I just adore.  This also means that it's much more long lasting than your average BB cream which I find tend to slip off after a couple of hours wear.

As a brand, Smashbox have been one of my favourites for a long time now.  I find them so inspiring - the fact that the beauty brand was born out of a real photo studio - the legendary Smashbox Studios in L.A.  As a photographer myself I know that if a beauty product can withstand hours on a face in the tough environment of a studio (in front of hot lights and long hours) it can definitely look incredible and last a day in real life - let's face it, our lives can be crazy and demanding too with long hours and often hardly time to touch up throughout the day, so I feel confident with the brand to make me look brill whether I'm filming for my channel or popping out for lunch with friends.

I also want to highlight the shade range available, as you guys also know I find it SO difficult to find base products pale enough for my skin but their shade 'Fair' is absolutely perfect for me... couldn't be more happy with this new find.

What are your thoughts on a BB Water?  Would you try it?

LIFE LATELY #3

Accidentally missed last week's so we have a lot to catch up on in this life post!  Is it terrible that my memory is SO bad that the only way I can remember back to last week is by looking at the pictures taken on my phone?  Lord knows what I'll be like when I'm a grandma!

Highlights & Things I've Been Up To:

1) First things first, I got my hair bleached all over by the amazing Samantha Cuisack at Taylor Taylor.  I'd been toying with the idea for ages and finally went for it and couldn't be happier.  I'll do a whole post on it soon but it's definitely been a big highlight!

2) It was my cousin's wedding at the weekend and it was really lovely.  She's the first of our group of cousins to get hitched and so it was great to party & dance with my family!  They tied the knot at Fanham's Hall, I highly recommend visiting as the grounds are beautiful.

3) Seeing Pharell live as part of the Apple Music Festival was INCREDIBLE.  Words can't describe how much I loved N.E.R.D in my teen years and so to hear him play my favs live was just insane.

4) Andrew and I bought tickets to the first ever adult night at Kidzania back in July and the date finally came and we loved it.  Kidzania is basically a miniature town for kids where they can get a 'job' to earn currency and spend it on whatever they wish there.  I have wanted to be a detective my entire life and so my dream came true when I got to be one for the night!  We also made healthy granola bars in a factory, became bell ringers for the town, got 'tattoos' and also became magicians and performed in the theatre.  If it was around when I was a kid I would have loved it so much - really recommend going to an adult night when you can!

5) I attended 4 blogger events in one day last week - must have been a record for me!  It started with a morning at LUSH looking at their Winter Lauches, followed by afternoon tea with Tarte at the Corinthea and in the evening I popped into the NEXT Cinema to watch Breakfast at Tiffany's on their comfy sofas.

6) I also wanted to include this gorgeous picture I took of my beautiful parents on Saturday.  Their love is such an inspiration to me; it's so strong and they're just perfect for each other.  I really couldn't be more grateful to have been brought up by them, surrounded by so much love and I don't know what I'd do without them.

There's so much more I could write but I really don't want to bore you so I'll leave it there!  My plans for the rest of the day is to edit the Illamasqua Lipstick Lookbook I filmed yesterday and photograph some amazing new products for review on the blog.

Hope you're having a good week so far!  Lots of love,

Katie xxx

BEAUTY SEPTEMBER FAVOURITES

I haven't written a monthly favourites post in such a long time but I used to really enjoy rounding up my favs and writing about them, so I'm bringing this feature back.  I've discovered some incredible new products throughout September so I'm really excited to tell you about them today.

KIKO Lip Crayon in #1:
I bought this a couple of month's ago in Westfield, it's such a beautiful lip shade - my perfect nude and it's also really moisturising and pigmented for a lip crayon.   Unfortunately it isn't available anymore which I'm absolutely gutted about but I'd really recommend popping into a KIKO store to try their products as they're fab!

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Fairytale Eye Palette:
This palette is AMAZING, full stop.  The 4 colours in the fairytale kit are absolutely ideal to create a smokey eye and the quality for a product this affordable is outstanding.  I actually spent some time with Tanya whilst she was planning the colours in her new palettes and to see how much effort she went to; from naming the shades, choosing out exactly what kind of colours she wanted and what the packaging was going to look like, makes me love the products even more!

Nars Highlighter in Albatross:
I've been on a big search for the perfect highlighter recently.  After eyeing up the Becca ones online, I went into a Space NK store to purchase but it wasn't available in that store, so I walked out with this instead and love it.  It's a beautiful gold highlight which looks pretty on my pale skin - I sweep across the tops of my cheekbones, under my brow bone and on my cupids bow - wearing it pretty much daily!

Bobbi Brown Brightening Brick in Pastel Peach:
This is just the prettiest blush/highlighter I own.  I'm still obsessed with peachy shades and this just looks so beautiful on the skin, giving me a really natural, peachy glow!

Barry M Lipstick in #52:
This is a really old favourite of mine which has recently made it's way back into my handbag - it's not the most moisturising (I always wear lip-balm before applying), but the colour is so intense and pigmented that I can't fault it!

Vichy Normaderm BB Clear Corrective Cream:
A couple of months ago I had never used a BB Cream (I just didn't think they'd look good on my blemished, acne prone skin at all) but now I've discovered SO many that I love and adore more than my full coverage foundations.  I really recommend this one in particular - it's light, covers imperfections and makes my skin feel really clear and smooth rather than cakey and oily.

If you'd like to see reviews of any of these products in full then please let me know and I'll get on it!

What have been your favourite products in September?

OUTFIT OF THE DAY: The Tight Jeans Debate.

Another couple of outfit pictures from a couple of weekend's ago - I really, really love this outfit and feel so well put together when I wear it.  I love that it can be dressed up with heels or made more casual with converse, but I do have a problem with the jeans...

This top is currently one of my favourites - it's so easy to wear and I feel like it goes well with everything.  It was around £27 from Hollister (surprise, surprise) and the jeans were also from the same store!

They make my bum look insanely good, but they are SO tight I really have to buildup the courage to wear them - that sounds so stupid but I really have a thing with fashion and comfort.  I would prefer leggings any day over jeans which makes dressing often difficult as I then need to wear a top that covers my bum (short tops and leggings = no,no).   I also feel like tight jeans do no good for my ladyparts (SORRY TMI but yeast infections aren't cool) and I prefer sitting on chairs with my legs crossed like a kid which is also harder to do with tight jeans.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that I'll only wear tight jeans if
1) I'm going out for a short period of time and want to look hot damn
2) I'm trying to impress and want my bum to look hot damn

I am contemplating wearing them out for dinner tonight but will probably swap for leggings last minute.  Please say I'm not the only one who has this in-head debate whenever they get dressed in the morning?

Oh, also the hat is from Primark and the heels are from New Look.

Anyone got any tips for wearing tight jeans?

TUTORIAL: Rainbow Skull Halloween Look

Autumn always has been one of my favourite times of year - not only do we get to wrap up, drink hot chocolate & step on crunchy leaves, it's also time for Halloween!  I've been writing notes of what Halloween looks to film for you guys for the past couple of months (eager, much?) and decided this would be the first I filmed this year.

I wanted to create something spooky but also striking and really pretty!  I'm obsessed with rainbow shades and wanted to incorporate lots of colour (the other tutorial I filmed is also very colourful) so I decided a rainbow skull would be perfect!

It's really, really easy to do but it does take a while to layer all the colours up.  It's best to start with a white base so the colours really strand out and look bright so I used a white face paint all over, added the black 'skull' detailing with black face paint from poundland (don't need to splurge to create striking looks) and used eyeshadows from the Urban Decay Electric Palette to build up the rainbow look.  Sleek Makeup also do a palette called 'Acid' which would be fantastic for this look if you're on a budget.

I have another Halloween tutorial going live next Sunday too so be sure to subscribe to see that - www.youtube.com/snooksy

What are your plans this Halloween?

TUTORIAL: Watercolour Tears & Pop Art Halloween Looks!

Following on from last week's colourful Halloween Tutorial, I also created this look.  Even prettier and more girly that the last, I really hope you enjoy these tutorials!

I also went one step further and decided to create a Pop Art Look on top of the tears - I've always wanted to try pop art makeup and it worked really well with the watercolour tears as a base.  You can see both video tutorials above!

I love how this makeup can suit any Halloween costume from Mermaid to Fairy and I also love how the tears have a watercolour painting look to them.  You can obviously also switch this up and use any kind of colours for the tears but I went for a pastel water/galaxy shades for this one.

Really hope you like these looks and be sure to Tweet or Instagram me a photograph if you try either of them out at home!

Lush Winter Christmas Haul!

Despite having my blog for 6 years this January (blimey!) I've never done a Lush Haul!!  I adore the shop - I can smell it from a mile off and always drag Andrew in there to smell everything I can get my hands on!

I recently popped into their Oxford Street store to have a browse at their Christmas launches and gift sets and decided to film a video of everything I picked up!

I picked up some new lip products included the Sunkissed Lip Tint (my new fav lip shade) as well as the Under the Mistletoe gift set which contains the most incredible festive treats.  My bathroom smells seriously brilliant with all of this sitting in it and I can't wait to use all the bits up.
I'll probably do full reviews of each product after I try them properly, so if there's any you particularly want to know about let me know :)

What's your favourite Lush Xmas product?
