REVIEW: HD Brows Before & After

It isn't until after I get them tended to, that I realise just how important eyebrows are for the face!  I hadn't done anything to my brows but occasionally tweezed for the most part of this year so far so after having them beautified with High Definition Brows I couldn't quite believe the difference (I was almost embarrassed that I'd been going around with them looking so bad for so long)!

I think these pictures do most of the talking when it comes to seeing how much of a change HD brows can make to the face.  I have to admit though to not actually taking the after pictures until the day after my appointment (the brow artist drew them in beautifully - I need to learn how to imitate her skill).

If you've never had a High Definition Brow treatment before I'll just run you through the details so you know what to expect!  Your appointment will start with a consultation to discuss the shape, size and look of your eyebrows - always very important!  I always ask for the arch of my brows to be lifted and more defined, but to keep the thickness.

Once decided, the brow technician will dye your brows (it's custom blended to you and you can decide whether you want them to be the same or slightly darker), before working their magic with wax, threading and tweezing to create the perfect brows.
They'll also fill your brows in and apply some light makeup around the area to take away any redness so you can carry on your day without worrying about red skin!

I really recommend this treatment if you're new to brow shaping and want a little makeover.  High Definition now also have a makeup range with lots of fantastic products for keeping the brows perfect between appointments - I love the tinted Brow Colourfix gel and the Eyebrow Palette.

You can read more about High Definition here!

Have you ever had an HD Brows treatment?

REVIEW: Aveeno for Eczema Prone Skin

I've had eczema for the majority of my life and although it isn't as bad as it used to be, I know how much of a common skin condition it is, and I'll admit it still bothers me when I get flare ups!  I wanted to share a review of some products I've been using recently to really soothe and combat the irritation from the brand Aveeno!

Aveeno Bath and Shower Oil
This product is a proper little luxury and a treat for me as I'm so used to avoiding shower gels at all costs as they tend to aggravate and irritate my eczema, but this is one of the only products I've found to benefit my skin.
I like to use this in my bath at least once a week during a flare up -  I add approx 2 teaspoons to my bath and my skin feels seriously soft afterwards. You can also massage this oil directly into wet skin in the shower - luxury!  This also smells divine thanks to the Colloidal Oatmeal.

Aveeno Moisturising Cream
If you suffer from eczema you'll know how important it is to moisturise to keep your skin soft and to prevent irritation.  I've been adoring the Moisturising Cream which comes in a pump bottle making it a pleasure to use.  I love to apply this after my shower or bath (aptly named the soak-and-seal' approach which is recommended if you have dry skin.
Even if you don't suffer from eczema, this is also perfect for dry and sensitive skin and can even be used on babies (3 months plus) making it a bathroom staple.

Both of these products contain Colloidal Oatmeal which is a really fantastic ingredient for soothing, moisturising, protecting and cleansing skin to keep it healthy and beautiful.  I've also found that using the products more regularly really helps to enhance it's effects leaving my skin feeling soft, smooth and ultimately a lot more comfortable!

I really recommend these products if you have dry skin - let me know if you try them!

Do you suffer with Eczema and have you ever used Aveeno?

REVIEW & SWATCHES: Too Faced Melted Chocolate Lipsticks

Who remembers this post where I reviewed 3 of Too Faced's Melted Lipsticks?  Well my love for them is still strong and grew even more so when they launched their new Melted Chocolate lip range!  Full review with swatches here for you today.

First things first, they smell like chocolate... I love this but I know a lot of people can be funny with heavily scented lip products.  I find this satisfies my choc cravings without actually indulging which is a positive in my opinion!

My favourite colour out of the three is definitely Chocolate Milkshake which is a pinky-brown nude which is my perfect everyday go-to colour.  It sits beautifully on my lips, whilst enhancing my skin tone - I just can't express how much I adore it.  I also have Metallic Chocolate Diamonds which is a pretty shimmery light mocha shade which sparkles on the lips and Metallic Frozen Hot Chocolate which is a darker metallic brown shade.

I find these to be extremely moisturizing and creamy on the lips compared to some liquid lipsticks which really dry my lips out.  They retail at £19 each and you can find them online or at the Too Faced counter in Debenhams stores!

Which of these is your favourite?  Do you like scented lip products?

COLLECTION: Storing Perfumes

If you watch my daily vlogs you'll know that I recently invested in another piece of makeup storage.  Things were getting out of hand so I picked up my first 9 drawer IKEA Alex (I already have three of the 5 drawers but desperately needed more storage).

Now I really wanted to find a good way to store my perfumes and a few of my favourite beauty items on top of this new homeware addition.  It took me a while, but I've finally nailed it!

I decided that in order to maximise the space to fit more on there, I needed a second tier for storing fragrances so I spent a little too much time scouring the internet for a suitable prop.  'Cake stand' seemed to be the most suitable search term and I finally settled on this mirrored stand with a cut out lace-look trim on eBay (link here) for around £20.  It's perfect!  It's now home to a good selection of my favourite fragrances.  Next to it is also a silver tray I picked up from H&M home (I think) which holds more sweet smelling bottles.

I also keep my favourite luxury lipsticks in a clear acrylic lipstick holder and a vase of beautiful flowers on top (and occasionally a candle in the evening) and I couldn't be happier with the outcome!

I also wanted to show you guys my newest favourite piece of artwork for my home.  You all know I am map obsessed and this London print from a company called 42 Pressed is just perfection. (link)  I also have a Paris one and my current hunt is for the perfect frames to display them in (I'll do a full separate post once they're hanging in my new office)!

Hope this has helped some of you who are struggling for ideas on how to store your fragrances with minimal space!

How do you store your perfumes?

REVIEW: HOW TO DYE HAIR PINK WITH PIXIE LOTT PAINTS

$

If you've seen on social media, I recently switched up my look (I can't believe I haven't spoken about this on my blog yet, sorry!).  I now sport pink hair!

I wanted to start a series on my YouTube channel where I test out pink hair dyes for you guys and show you the results!  First up was Pixie Lott's Paint Wash Out Hair Dye in Sorbet...

You can watch the full YouTube review here:

To use the product, you first need to wash and shampoo your hair (don't condition) before towel drying and combing through thoroughly.  Then you can squeeze the dye out and start applying (be sure to wear the gloves included in the box to save staining your hands).  I have an awful lot of hair so I used 2 tubes of the product and it took about 20 minutes to apply all over.

I left it in for 20 minutes and then washed out before realising I had missed quite a few patches (the worst!) so I had to redo those patches and left in for slightly longer as I found the colour hadn't taken so well to other places.  After leaving in for another 30 minutes I washed it out and I was happy with the colour.

I was super nervous about dying my whole head pink before filming this video but I was really pleased with the results.  The shade wasn't as vibrant as I had wanted (it was more similar to colour it should be when it fades after one wash) which was a shame but it was still a pretty almost rose gold shade.  The dye also took more to the roots rather than the ends of my hair.

A couple more points - the dye comes out of the tube as a gold shade but this turns pink once applied (bizzare) and the colour only lasted ONE wash which I was really disappointed about.  Great for those who want the colour for a special occasion but any longer you'll need something more pigmented.

The Pixie Lott paints are currently on offer in Superdrug stores, now £3.99 instead of £5.99!

Be sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel to see the next video in this series!

What do you think of this shade? Would you dye your hair pink?

A cheeky little outfit of the day post here!  Andrew and I had a little picnic in our local park a couple of weekends ago when it was beautifully hot and sunny (you can watch the vlog from that day here), and we decided to take some outfit pictures and shoot a little 1 minute fashion video for my channel also!

Playsuit: http://fave.co/1qSM4sT
Strappy Boots: http://fave.co/1qBYFRa
Sunglasses: http://fave.co/1P7fyOY

I adore this playsuit from Motel.  It has a lace up front (great for if you want to show a little cleavage without being overly underdressed) and has a beautiful sun and moon print.  I'll admit I felt a little like I was wearing pj's in this as it was so comfortable!

I teamed it with my favourite lace up platform boots from Boohoo and my new favourite rainbow glasses from Forever 21.

Short post but hopefully sweet!  Hope you're all doing well? Let me know!

REVIEW: NYX MATTE LIP CREME SWATCHES

So as you may have heard NYX has made it's way to highstreet stores in the UK... something I couldn't have been more excited about!  There have been so many NYX products I've wanted for a really long time so as soon as they launched I rushed out and splurged a little!

One of the things I most wanted to get my hands on were the Soft Matte Lip Cremes and after browsing their stand in Selfridges for over half an hour, these were the four I settled on!

L-R Athens, London, Stockholm, Morocco

I think you'll agree these are just stunning!  They are so pigmented but at the same time their formula is super creamy and just a delight to apply to the lips.

The three nudes I picked up look similar in the packaging but are all really different.  Athens has become my go-to lip shade and the one I reach for the most.  It really reminds me of my all time favourite lipstick which is Barely There by Sleek Makeup - it's practically identical but in liquid form - a peachy pink nude.

London is a beautiful brown nude, almost like a milky mocha shade which is very 'in' right now, and Stockholm is almost a mix of the two - a pinky brown nude.  I then obviously had to pick up Morocco as I'm obsessed with orange toned red matte lipsticks (Illamasqua's Exotic being really similar but almost triple the price).

I really can't fault these products.  They are really affordable at £5.50 each, come in such a gorgeous variety of shades (there really is something for everyone) and they are moisturising on the lips as opposed to other matte lipsticks that cling to any dry patches.  I can't wait to purchase some more (I can see this becoming an addiction)!

Have you tried the NYX Matte Lip Cremes?  Which of these is your favourite?

Life Update - July 2016

$

I haven't done a personal/life update post in a while so I thought I'd lay it all down on my blog for today's post.

#1
Perhaps my biggest news is that in 2 weeks time Andrew and I are moving out of our cute maisonette in zone 2 of London!  We've lived here for almost 2 years now and despite how much I adore it and the area (we really do have everything on our doorstep) we've decided to upgrade a little!  We'll still be renting, but we're moving to a two bedroom (and two bathroom!!! so bloody excited), flat in zone 3.  A bit further out and still in East London but we're getting lots more space for our money which means I can finally have an office!

Working at home full time can really blur the lines between work and play/chill time, especially as I've currently been working on my blog/Youtube channel from my bed for the past year, and so I can't wait to now have an official office space to work from.  I can't express how excited I am to get in there and organise my life so I'm counting down the days!
Also - I really want to de-clutter my life in my new home (everything from makeup to clothes) so I'm thinking of creating a de-cluttering series, what are your thoughts on this?

#2
We also now officially have less than 1 year till our wedding!  Today is actually 11 months to the day (2nd June 2017) and I can't believe how quickly it's going!  We've pretty much sorted and booked all of the big things now (still need to confirm catering though) but the butterflies have started to really creep in.  Nearer to the time I'll be doing lots more wedding content (from trying to find my wedding makeup/perfume to DIY wedding favours etc) so do follow on bloglovin and YouTube if you'd like to see this.

#3
I'm planning a blog re-vamp/re-design/re-fresh over the next few months.  I want to up my blogging game as recently YouTube has really had my full attention so once the whole move is over I'm going to get my grubby mitts on making this a new lovely space on the internet.  Do let me know if there's anything you'd like to see, new, old, or things you'd like changing!  I've also had some brilliant new consistent content ideas for this blog and my channel so please do stick around!

Whilst writing this up I've realised how much I used to enjoy creating these posts so I'll be sure to make them more of a regular feature!

I hope you're all well, lots of love!

INTRODUCTION TO MY ROACCUTANE JOURNEY

$

0
It has admittedly taken me far too long to write this but it's because it's such an important subject to me that I want to do my story justice!

I guess I'll start by saying that I have had acne for 10 years.  The years I should have been my most confident were ruined by the fact I had horrendous cystic acne.  I've always been outgoing in social situations but inside, would always be deeply embarrassed about my face and paranoid that people were staring.

I tried countless long term courses of antibiotics (some of which made me really ill) as well as daily topical creams which burned and dried my skin out).  I also experimented with cutting things out in my diet, excerising, drinking more water, switching up my skincare regimes and none of these helped lessen the blemishes on my face.  After 10 years of this my doctor finally referred me to a dermatologist for a medicine called Roaccutane.

Because of it's intense side effects and the fact that you must not get pregnant whilst on the medication, it means monthly visits to the dermatologist for check ups, blood tests and pregnancy tests.  I'm not going to lie, it's an intense drug!

I decided from the start that I wanted to document my journey on this medicine for a number of reasons:

1) So I could document and compare how my skin was changing on a daily basis, to either give myself or other acne sufferers some hope!
2) To get rid of some of the bad stigma surrounding this medicine and to show the reality of it.
3) To emphasise that it's okay to show your imperfections - no one is perfect and hopefully this will help some people going through the same thing.

I am now currently three months into my Roaccutane journey but I still have 5 more months to go so still lots of content to come.

Each month there will be 2 Roaccutane based videos on my YouTube channel.  The first will be a recap of the side effects over the previous month with before and after pictures so you can see how my skin is improving.  The 2nd video will be a 'daily skin vlog' where I have filmed my bare skin every day to show how it's changing daily.

You can watch month 1 & 2 here:

If you have watched, shared, commented or supported any of these videos, thank you so much.  I really appreciate everyone's support and positivity.  The feedback has been so overwhelming and I couldn't be more grateful to have such beautiful humans watching my journey.

I wanted to ask here if you guys would like written update posts from each month as well as the videos?  I'm unsure of wether to write updates from the first two months as they've already been and gone but happy to write up monthly going forward - just let me know!

Lots of love,

Katie xx

SEVENTEEN BLOGGER NETWORK EVENT!

Being able to work closely with some of my favourite makeup brands is one of my absolute favourite things about my job, and last week I definitely had one of those pinch me moments!

I was asked by SEVENTEEN (by far one of the best makeup brands on the highstreet in my opinion, for their incredible quality yet affordable beauty products that won’t break the bank) if I would like to hold an event with them for the first ever Blogger Network meet up.  I of course said yes.

The event was set out to be super inspiring and something I would have loved to have attended when I first started out blogging.  There was a YouTube/Google expert there giving a talk on his ‘10 Tips Every Beauty Vlogger Should Know” (seriously fantastic advice and guidance) and I also gave a talk about my blogging journey to becoming a full time content creator.  I added in my top tips for growing your blog (which I might actually make a video about soon as the feedback from beauty bloggers was really positive) and overall there was just such a inspiring feel for the evening.

Not only that, but celeb makeup artist Vanesa Guallar was there doing makeup demonstrations on this year’s hottest makeup trends.  I’ve actually known Vanesa for years now and she’s someone I always go to for beauty advice (anyone remember this post) so to see these makeup looks come to life with SEVENTEEN products was mesmerising!

My favourite trend of the evening was definitely ‘Sci-fi Skin’ – a beautifully natural makeup look of which it’s main focus is a metallic, dewy sheen, so skin is left looking glowing.  I’m also a massive fan of SEVENTEEN’s new Mega Matte Lipsticks to create the Bold Lips trend.  These lippies retail at £4.49 each and come in 12 beautiful shades to create stunning statement lips.

If you’re an emerging beauty blogger who wants to meet new bloggers, get inspiration and share posts then I really recommend joining the SEVENTEEN Blogger Network – it’s a fantastic platform and hopefully I’ll get to meet you at future events!

What’s your favourite SEVENTEEN makeup product?

ROACCUTANE MONTH 3 - Side Effects + My Skin Now

$

As I'm writing this, I'm officially on my 113th day of taking Roaccutane, the (sometimes controversial) medicine for treating acne!  You can see my first blog post on this here, or alternatively check out all of my monthly YouTube updates on my journey here.

If you've ever been on this medicine, or read up about it you'll know there are a silly amount of side effects that go alongside it!  I was petrified of these side effects when I first started and posts like this were really helpful for me to know what to expect so I hope this helps some of you!

Every month I've encountered countless different side effects (from mood swings, back ache, headaches, eczema etc) so I want to start documenting each month on my blog as well.  Here is my update on month 3 of taking this medicine.

Month 3 Side effects:

- I really suffered with a dull ache/back pain in my neck for the last few weeks of month 2 and thankfully it only lasted a week into month 3.  It was pretty unbearable, especially in the evenings as I just couldn't get comfortable meaning I couldn't sleep at night!  Joint and muscle pain is a common accutane side effect (I guess because it dries the oil between your joints so friction is more intense).  Really glad this hasn't made a reappearance!

- A new side effect in month three was extremely sensitive and itchy skin.  If I had the tiniest nip or scratch my skin would really mark and break a lot easier.  I headbutted a stack of paper magazines one day and it took a layer of skin off my forehead!  My body has been covered in scratch marks because my skin is so itchy and a lot more sensitive than usual.  I've also developed eczema patches on my arms and legs.

- The worst side effect (that I can partly blame on the medicine) was an eye infection.  I knew that accutane can make you more septable to eye infections and unluckily I got conjunctivitus in both eyes whilst on holiday (I should note I've only had it once before when I was a child - 20 years ago).  I think it was a combination of my eyes being super dry from the medicine, as well as the dry weather in Croatia and that I held a kitten a few days before and I might be a little allergic.  It was horrendous, I had swollen, itchy, gunky wet eyes and couldn't wear makeup for almost 2 weeks!

- I've also been feeling a little emotional over the past month.  Depression is yet another common side effect which I think I've been experiencing slightly.  I'm very sensitive (much more than normal), feel very low some days and find it hard to contain anger or upset.  This is getting better (month 3 was super stressful as I'd just moved house) and I'm hoping this will lessen now that life isn't so stressful!

Before and Afters:

Here are the before and afters - the first day I started taking the medicine and the first day of month 4.  These pictures and seeing the improvements in my skin make the side effects so worth it.  Every day I'm feeling more confident and comfortable in my skin and the amount of compliments I'm getting is just incredible!

I hope this has helped some of you also in your third month!  I'll update you again at the end of month 4!

BY TERRY / SUN CRUISE COLLECTION + SWATCHES

Excited today to be showing you some of my current favourite makeup bag must haves from the wonderfully luxurious By Terry.  A brand I've adored for years (you can actually read my first post about them on the blog here!) and one that never fails to make me feel sophisticated and glam.

I literally can not get over how gorgeous these products are!

I'll start with the lippies - 3 new Hyaluronic Sheer Rouge lip sticks that have not left my makeup bag all summer.  The hyaluronic acid works to moisturise, plump, protect and smooth the lips leaving them with a beautiful wash of colour.  I'm not normally a fan of sheer lipsticks but since being on Roaccutane and suffering from dry lips, these are the only things I can use!  Instead of feeling self conscious about bare, flaky lips, I now feel confident with them looking soft with a sheer colour pop.

Next up are 4 beautiful liquid eyeliners aptly named the Line Designers.  I've never been one to experiment with bright liquid liners but these have had me craving more adventurous makeup looks.  The purple has to be my favourite (I mean seriously, look at those swatches above)!  These are also all waterproof and the applicator tip is perfect for creating a sharp, defined look.

Finally are my favourites - the Sun Designer Palettes!  I just CAN'T get enough of these beauties.  They are real statement pieces - the packaging is luxurious with a velvet pouch for each palette.  Each palette contains 6 shades which can be used together or separately.  The Tan & Flash palette contains brighter, pink shades along with three neutrals to help create a variety of looks but my favourite is the Light & Tan composed of 6 neutrals.  The left hand side contains 3 shimmer/highlight shades which I adore.  I tend to use the darker shade to contour, the lightest shimmer shade to highlight and mix all shades to create a custom neutral blush.

These products are available from Space NK and online at Feel Unique, Cult Beauty, Harrods etc.  I'm not going to lie - these products are pricey but completely worth it for the high quality of cosmetics and gorgeous packaging.  I'm really looking forward to adding more By Terry products to my collection soon!

Have you got a favourite By Terry product?

AUTUMNAL VAMPY MAKEUP TUTORIAL

$

Autumn is well and truly upon us, and what better way to celebrate than by embracing those darker, more autumnal shades in your makeup looks!  This is going to be a step by step, paint by numbers tutorial so it’s super easy to follow and recreate at home.  I’m also going to be using solely SEVENTEEN products to create this look - an idea I’ve wanted to experiment with for a really long time (one brand full face makeup looks) so starting with one of my favourite affordable high-street makeup brands.  I've also aptly named this look 'Vamp it up'!

 Step 1:
Apply #1 all over the eyelid to just above the crease of the eye.
Step 2:
Apply #2, a gorgeous almost rose gold cream on the centre and inner corner of the eye
Step 3:
Apply Tattoo Me Liner (#3) and create a winged flick on the top lash line and use a black liner to line top & bottom waterlines
Step 4:
Take shade #1 underneath the lower lash line and again, place #2 in the centre for a subtle shimmer.
Step 5:
Use Super Lash mascara (#4) to top and bottom lashes to create a fluttery, sultry look.
Step 6:
Fill in the brows (#5) with the Sculpting Brow Pencil
Step 7:
Perfect your base by buffing in foundation (#6). I’m using the Stay Time Foundation in Porcelain
Step 8:
Use a highlighting concealer such as the Skin Wow (#7) to cover any remaining blemishes and to highlight under the eye and your brow bone.
Step 9:
Contour with a product of your choice. I’m using the Instant Glow Cream Bronzer (#8) below my cheekbones
Step 10:

Finally, finish with a dark lipstick for an intense vampy look (#9). I’m using Stay Matte in Rioja Your World.

I really enjoyed creating this look as these products are such lovely quality and available for a great price.   SEVENTEEN have also created a new gang of inspiration women, aptly named the #SeventeenSquad to help provide some on-trend makeup inspiration.  If you’d like to see more tutorials like this then check out their social pages as there will be one of these every day!  (Link to twitter, instagram, facebook).

I really hope you enjoyed this post, let me know if you’d like to see more like this!

REVIEW: ILLAMASQUA EXTINCT RANGE + SWATCHES

I've said it before, but I'll say it again - Illamasqua's new launches are always something to get excited about!  Always ahead of the game with trends and shades, the new Extinct collection is no exception!

This range could not be more perfect for autumn; made up of beautiful burgundies, wine reds and sparkles in a variety of textures to help embrace this season.  I was kindly sent a few things so couldn't wait to review them for you.

First pictured are two eyeshadows, the first being a powder eyeshadow called Cascade, the most stunning white/blue frost (super magical when used with a wet brush - it looks two tone in the light) and the most stunning Pure Pigment named Axolotl which is an almost holographic glitter which looks sublime layered over darker shades.

The Demise palette is of course a show stopper consisting of four eye shadows in different textures and autumnal shades for a stunning look.  My favourite is the shade 'Wilt' a red gold, almost cream-textured shadow.

I also have a new polish named Remains, a purple base packed with the most beautiful golden and red glitter shades (that also looks fab over a darker polish) and we have the Exoskeleton Matte Liquid Lip, which is described as a dusky plum shade!

Everything is available now from Illamasqua stores/counters and online!

What are your favourite makeup shades this autumn?

HALLOWEEN TREATS!

It's officially my favourite time of year - autumn leaves, snuggling with blankets on the sofa, hot chocolates, sweet candles and Halloween!  I'm kicking off this year's blog Halloween content with something deliciously spooky!

As All Hallows Eve falls on a Monday this year I will be spending the evening at my weekly circus class instead of getting dressed up & indulging in neighbours sweet treats, so instead I treated myself to my all time favourites, Biscuiteers!

This year they've launched a selection of Halloween themed biscuit tins which looked too delicious to pass up!  I decided on the Day of the Dead tin which includes 12 biscuits in the most beautiful Mexican sugar skull themed designs (also apt as I created a tutorial on this look a few years ago here)!

Biscuiteers are number 1 in my favourite biscuit brand list (sounds dramatic, but I am the biscuit queen and they've always been my snack of choice).  Not only are they always beautifully iced by hand, in gorgeous designs, they also taste sublime.  Their original ginger biscuits are my favourite but this time I decided to try their chocolate base and it didn't disappoint.

Also available this Halloween is the 'Haunted House'& 'Scooby Do' tins alongside other spooky biscuit cards & gingerbread men.  They also do home delivery, so order online by 1pm on Friday to get them before Halloween Day.

Any excuse to treat myself to a Biscuiteers tin and I'm there!

Have you ever tried Biscuiteers?

HALLOWEEN TUTORIAL: FORTUNE TELLER

Okay, if you're still in need of some Halloween inspiration for this coming weekend do not fear!  I have created three Halloween tutorials for you that are super easy but striking and will make you stand out in the crowd.

First up is the mystic fortune teller!

I hadn't seen many people create this look before I posted it on my YouTube channel so it's a good one if you want to be a little different from the Harley Quinn's that will most likely be parading the streets!

You can watch the full tutorial above but I used a selection of high street and high end products to really build up that demented, mystical look.

Really hope you enjoy it, be sure to tweet/instagram me a picture if you try it yourself!

What are you doing this Halloween?

HALLOWEEN TUTORIAL: MERMAID/FAIRY/ALIEN!

Second in my Halloween makeup series of 2016 is this look.  Going to be honest, I had no idea what to call this tutorial!  It could be one of many things - alien, mermaid, unicorn, fairy - but I think that's what I most like about it - you can dress it to match what you want!

All I knew is that I wanted to create something really pretty (as opposed to the scary, ghoulish Halloween looks) and also something really easy!

This look is really easy and involved placing some white face paint around the eyes and simply layering pastel eyeshadow shades on top of it, to create a bright, almost watercolour effect around the eyes.  Finish with lots of glitter, some sharp contouring, lashes and you're perfect!

You can of course use any shade range you want to create this look - I think mint greens & blues would look insane.  I've jotted the full product list down in the description bar in the video (linked above) so check that out & watch the video to see the full tutorial.

I have one more Halloween look to come tomorrow morning and it's my favourite so stay tuned for that!

What are you dressing as on Halloween?

HALLOWEEN TUTORIAL: PASTEL GALAXY MAKEUP LOOK

If you love highlighting, glitter, pastel shades and smokey eyes, this is the Halloween look for you!  I've always wanted to create a galaxy inspired look and although this isn't your average (think dark starry milkyways) I think it's still unique and really striking.

Quite similar to my previous Halloween look, this requires a white base where you want the majority of the colours to be, lots of blending and lots of shimmer and cream highlights to really bring the look alive.  I wasn't sure what to do with the brows so I experimented with a bright purple/blue but to make it more wearable you could stick to your normal brow shade.

If you want to see the products used and how to recreate this look then just click on the video above!  Really hope you enjoyed it and if you recreate it at home be sure to tweet me your pictures!

Happy Halloween!

My Beauty Secret: For Whiter Teeth

There has been a new addition to my beauty regime in the past fortnight and results have been quick and boosted my confidence, so I wanted to share the secret with you today!

Introducing the new Philips Sonicare DiamondClean Rose Gold electric toothbrush!  Not only is it a beaut to display in my bathroom with it's rose gold accents, it is clinically proven to whiten teeth in one week, meaning you can smile confidently in all lippie shades without worry.

I was recently gifted the new Philips Sonicare DiamondClean in Rose Gold and after using it religiously for two weeks I can admit I'm now a convert!
The product comes with five brush modes, ‘clean’ to remove plaque, ‘white’ to remove surface stains, ‘polish’ to brighten teeth, ‘gum care’ to massage gums and ‘sensitive’ which is ideal for users with sensitive teeth and gums.  You really have everything you need to keep your teeth and gums clean and healthy with one product.

I have always been worried about the shade of my teeth - has anyone noticed how I never grin with my teeth on Instagram/Blog pictures?  It doesn't help that I'm a tea addict!
I have often been too paranoid to wear a certain shade of lipstick in case it enhances any staining or discolouration;  A shame for me as my favourite lipsticks are orange based reds which ALWAYS make my teeth look orange.  But now I can happily wear any lipstick shade and feel confident that my teeth still look pearly white!

The brush is a pleasure to use - it lets you know when to move on to the next section of teeth, has a chargeable case (SO handy for when you're travelling) but saying that I haven't needed to charge it once since I've been using it as the battery is great!

You can find out more about the product and purchaseat this link here!

Philips say:  Clinically proven to improve gum health in just two weeks, whiten teeth in one week and removes up to seven times more plaque than a manual toothbrush, making it both effective and desirable. Priced at £270

Have you ever worried about teeth discolouration?
